GameStop Enters Trading Card Space + PSA’s New Holder
In 2024, GameStop has started a new program where they buy PSA-graded sports and gaming cards, including Pokémon cards. They accept only cards with a PSA grade of 8 or higher, and the cards must have the Lighthouse label for authenticity. The maximum value for a single card they will accept is $500, and the value offered for the cards can be taken as cash or in-store credit, with the store credit option providing a higher return (40% more) than cash (Sports Collectors Daily) (Hobby Listings) (CollectShop).
This initiative is part of GameStop's broader strategy to diversify its offerings and tap into the growing collectibles market.
