Making money with football cards involves a combination of knowledge, strategy, and a keen understanding of the sports card market. Here are some tips to potentially generate income with football cards:

Research and Stay Informed:

  • Stay informed about current players, rookies, and market trends. Follow player performances, injuries, and other factors that can impact card values.
  • Invest in Rookie Cards: Rookie cards are often highly sought after, especially if the player becomes successful. Identify promising rookies and consider investing in their rookie cards.
  • Grading: Graded cards often command higher prices. Consider sending valuable cards to reputable grading services like PSA or Beckett to enhance their market appeal.
  • Limited Editions and Inserts: Limited edition and special insert cards are often more valuable. Keep an eye on new releases and look for rare or unique cards that might have higher potential for appreciation.
  • Autographed Cards: Autographed cards can significantly increase in value. Invest in autographed cards of popular players or emerging stars. Ensure authenticity by obtaining cards from reputable sources.
  • Buy Low, Sell High: Pay attention to market fluctuations and try to buy cards when prices are relatively low. Consider selling during peak demand or when a player’s performance generates increased interest.
  • Trying out Box Breaks: Box breaks involve purchasing a spot in a group opening of a sealed box of cards. You receive the cards associated with your spot. This can be a way to obtain valuable cards without buying an entire box. Mapping out a strategy and watching your spending is key when participating in box breaks
  • Sell at the Right Time: Timing is crucial. If a player has a breakout performance or wins an award, it might be an opportune time to sell their cards when demand is high.
  • Build Sets: Completing sets, especially those with limited or special edition cards, can increase the value of your collection. Some collectors are willing to pay a premium for completed sets.
  • Utilize Online Platforms: Take advantage of online platforms such as eBay, COMC (Check Out My Cards), or dedicated sports card marketplaces to buy and sell cards. These platforms provide exposure to a larger audience.
  • Attend Sports Card Shows: Attend sports card shows and conventions where you can buy, sell, and trade cards. Networking with other collectors and dealers can open up opportunities.
  • Diversify Your Collection: Diversify your collection by acquiring cards from different players, teams, and eras. This can help spread risk and increase the potential for finding undervalued cards.

It’s important to note that the sports card market can be unpredictable, and there are risks involved. It’s advisable to do thorough research, stay informed, and approach card collecting and trading with a mix of passion and a well-thought-out strategy.

Chasing the newest QB prospects has been a fun part for collectors to chase their favorite up and coming player cards. But man, it comes also with tremendous risk, as most QB’s just don’t work out for one reason or another. This year we have CJ Stroud, the standout for the Houston Texans, Bryce Young, and Will Levis. Bryce Yound has struggles mightily in his first season with the Panthers and Will Levis has had his ups and downs on an inconsistent Titans team. Some of these names, including Anthony Richardson, who has been hurt most of the this year for the Colts, will be highly sought after this football season in Panini products.

Will you be hunting this year in 2023 Prizm football?
